The green revolution from the 1970s initiated an era of high production of food grains and vegetables and helped save the day. As India is a country with limited land available for farming but the population growing steadily but significantly there is a large burden on our food producers to produce more output and the most used solutions are chemical additives for the soil, highly poisonous pesticides and chemicals to prevent food damage. No doubt they have helped in productivity; but at what cost. As per official Estimates in India around 55% of fruits and Vegetables contain more than the permissible amount of pesticides and insecticides on them.
self sufficiency in farming is something maany people want to achieve but very few actually manage to try their hands on and even fewer manage to succeed.
